2019 Tryouts to be held in Wenatchee on Friday January 25th at ice time 5:30 pm

No Tryout Fee (PNAHA sponsored event)

This event is open to all High School Juniors & Seniors.

The 2019 High School Showcase will be held in St. Louis April 11-15.

Please fill out attached Registration form and return via email to Pam Preisser at pamelapreisser@comcast.net no later than January 15.

Twenty-four boys’ teams from across the United States representing forty-three States will compete and showcase their talents to scouts from every major hockey institution in the country.

The purpose of this prestigious event remains the same. It is designed to allow high school juniors and seniors from around the country who do not traditionally get scouted due to geographic and budgetary constraints the opportunity to compete against the best of the best during a five day period and be seen by every major hockey institution in North America. PNAHA is proud to support Team Washington’s participation in this event.

According to Jim Smith, past Chicago Showcase Director, “By allowing more areas to host this prestigious event, it promises to be second to none. I am quite confident the volunteers and organizing committee in St. Louis will not only maintain the high standards of this event, but will bring it to even greater heights. I am sure they will want to keep this event in St. Louis for many years to come.”

This event is coached by former NHL player and former Seattle Thunderbirds WHL assistant coach Jim McTaggart. Jim has been coaching the Showcase team for 15+ years and has a passion to help young players receive an opportunity to be scouted at a main event. Jim is well know both in the community and on the East Coast in which the team travels. He is also a scout for the WHL giving players a chance to showcase their talents locally.

Jim received the prestigious Leadership Award last year which has never been given to a coach in the 33 history of the tournament. His ability to lead by example, respect staff, players, scouts, fans, and opposing coaches made him the clear choice. The vote was unanimous and Jim was presented the award at the final game of 2017 Showcase in Pittsburgh.
