Adult Advanced Skills & Scrimmage

May 26, 2022

We are excited to announce a new class designed for adult hockey players looking to continue their developmental process.  For years now we have successfully had our Adult Learn to Play program.  That program has gotten many people into our great game of hockey.  However, people often express a desire for “more” once they graduate from the basics of the ALTP program.  Our new Adult Skills and Scrimmage is designed to meet this request.

  • 8 sessions
  • Wednesdays 7:30 – 8:30 pm
  • June 1st through July 20th
  • $325 for skaters
  • $175 for goalies (separate registration site).

This is intended for adults that are past the novice stage of development looking for advanced training.  Goalies may be novice at the position but should possess the basic skating abilities required to play hockey.  RHL players should be self-categorized as a more experienced Copper players to up Silver.

Space is limited and registration will be accepted on a first come basis.

Bobby O’Connor Award

November 21, 2019

Shout out to Rob Kaufman.  During the coaching education seminars this weekend, Flint Doungchak, Pacific District Coach in Chief and Mark Tabrum, USA Hockey Coaching Education Program (CEP) Director presented Rob with the Bobby O’Connor Award.  The Bobby O’Connor award is given to  key volunteers for their dedication to the USA Hockey Coach Education Program (CEP) and the development of coaches at the grassroots level. Rob is the first Pacific District Coach to receive this prestigious award.

Rob has been coaching in the Tacoma program since 1989.  His vision for developing a culture for hockey in Tacoma continues to be a life long passion.  His dedication to teaching our coaches, serving as Pacific Northwest Amateur Hockey Association(PNAHA) Coach in Chief for 20 years and being a part of the USA Hockey CEP program for 30 years has made a tremendous positive impact for thousands of hockey players – many of whom are giving back as coaches in our programs. From the Tacoma Rockets family, congratulations Coach Rob
